KUAC fall fundraiser goes virtual

Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day 2020

Today we recognize ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ's Indigenous tribes with celebrations across our university system in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. The University of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ upholds Indigenous Peoples' Day with culturally relevant events in honor of the Indigenous people of this land who have thrived and survived in ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ for more than 10,000 years.

852 ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ students receive the $12,000 UA Scholars Award

Every year, more than 300 schools in ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ identify the top ten percent of their junior class for the UA Scholar Award, a designation which includes a $12,000 scholarship for use at any University of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ campus. As of October 5, 852 students have been named for the prestigious award.

New Legislation Would Provide Greater Fiscal Stability for the University of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ

U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski, Dan Sullivan, and Rep. Don Young, all R-ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, last week introduced new legislation, the University of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Fiscal Foundation Act, in both the Senate and House of Representatives. The legislation is supported by ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Governor Mike Dunleavy, also R-ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, and would resolve the University of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ's (University) unfulfilled land grant to help it generate revenues that support its students and operations.

President Pitney met with media to discuss budget, vision and impacts of COVID-19

UAF to host federal Arctic Energy Office

Regents approve discontinuation of four UAA athletics teams, address budget challenges

The athletics decision was a component of the discussion on the university's budget challenges. The university is planning for a $257 million FY22 state operating budget, a reduction of $20 million from FY21.
